The Reebok Elliptical Trainer – A Good Choice for the Casual User

The Reebok elliptical trainer is manufactured by Icon Health & Fitness, the largest maker of fitness equipment in the world. In addition to Reebok, other Icon brands include NordicTrack, ProForm, HealthRider, FreeMotion Fitness, Weider, iFit.com, Gold's Gym, Weslo, Image, Hidden Grove Furniture, and their extended warranty brand, UTS. In the case of Reebok, Icon has licensed the name, and the Reebok elliptical trainers are in no way related to the shoe company of the same name.

Icon Fitness products are well known for providing lots of bells and whistles on their products, and lots of gee whiz features. However, these feature packed products are often lacking in the quality and durability seen in many of their competitors. Reebok elliptical trainers suffer from this product rich, quality poor issue as well.

The Reebok elliptical trainers are quite popular and well selling models, and they are sold at many mass retailers and even carried on the Home Shopping Network. Reebok elliptical trainers offer a wealth of features and gadgets, and they are priced lower than many other models of elliptical trainers.

The concern with Reebok elliptical trainers, however, is the same concern expressed with other Icon brands, and that is one of quality and durability. Icon fitness products, including Reebok elliptical trainers, are known to use cheaper components, and durably and reliability has been a problem. These elliptical trainers are designed for light use, not for everyday workouts.

Those considering the purchase of a Reebok elliptical trainer are advised to try one out before purchase. The reviews have been mixed, with some people loving their Reebok and others hating it.

As with other Icon Fitness products, the warranty on Reebok elliptical trainers is somewhat skimpy. For instance, the warranty on the Reebok 525 and 645 elliptical trainer is a scant 90 days on parts and labor, while the warranty on the Reebok 725 elliptical trainer runs for only a year.

Those who decide to purchase Reebok elliptical trainers may want to consider purchasing an extended warranty, as Icon has a reputation for being somewhat disinterested in customer service for out of warranty products.
