Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Protein has been around forever and is one of the most popular supplements being sold right now, and for good reason.  I really enjoy the taste of this whey protein.  Compared to other protein powders, Optimum’s 100% whey powder mixes very well with either milk or water, and also mixes very quickly.  The taste is absolutely wonderful.  Many protein powders have such a fake chalky taste to them that I can’t stand, but Optimum’s whey ends up making my protein shake taste like a milkshake.  It also comes in many different flavors, so you can choose which one you think you’d like the most and go from there.  Personally, I enjoy the Chocolate Whey, Vanilla Whey, and Cookies & Cream Whey flavors the most – but I sampled all of their flavors and I can honestly say that I did not dislike any of them.  For the purposes of this review, I was drinking a shake about 45 minutes before my workout as a pre-workout drink and then again after my workout as a post-workout shake.  We all know that getting the right amount of protein in your diet is extremely important for muscle growth but when you take the protein is equally as important.  Getting a protein shake in immediately after a hard workout can be extremely beneficial in getting good muscle gains. I highly recommend this whey protein over other companies based on flavor and quality.  You can’t go wrong with Optimum Nutrition.
