Losing Weight the Healthy Way
It is always best to lose weight in a way which does not harm our health. We can start that by making some changes to our lifestyle. Firstly we need to make changes to our food intake. The best way of losing weight is to reduce the number of calories you take and by increasing your physical activities every day. Depending on how your actives are, you may need between 1500 – 2500 calories a day. You can afford to eat about 300-500 calories a day to lose about 1-2 pounds per week.
You have to lose weight slowly and not go in for crash dieting or pills to lose weight. Crash diets may help you take off pounds faster, but can make you get back more pounds than you lost after you stop dieting. You can try to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week. By improving your diet plan and adding Exercise to your routine, you will be able to develop a healthy lifestyle. By doing this you find yourself controlling your weight over time. Exercise and a healthy diet has many benefits, you can lower the chance of heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.
Exercise is a must if you want to lose weight; there are no two ways about it if you are looking at losing weight in a healthy way. To start get some exercise for at least 30 minutes every day. Activities like walking, gardening, a game of tennis or racquetball for a while are enough. If you find it difficult to find that time you can also break that 30 minutes into three 10-minute periods. A tip to lose weight easily could be to do things such as parking the car away from the office and walking a bit and whenever possible take the stairs instead of the elevator. The idea is to burn more calories than you what you consume.
Cut down on consumption of fat and sugars – this helps reduce the amount of calories you eat per day. While shopping for groceries choose foods that say low, light or reduced on the label for calories or fat. If you are a person who eats meat opt for lean in meat, poultry and fish. It is also best to drink less or no alcohol.
Have variety in the food that you eat, you need to get a proper share of nutrients and vitamins in your food. Eat vegetables, fruits, and whole grains every day, do not skip dairy products as they are a rich source of calcium which is necessary to prevent bone loss.
Even if you are trying to lose weight, do not cut down on starch from your diet, it is an important source of energy that your body needs. Just make sure you do not consume them in large quantities.
Do not embark on a weight loss program if you are suffering from any ailment without first consulting a doctor.
