The scientists observed several obese people during this study, monitoring not only their eating habits but also their habits at the time of sleep. The results of these observations actually revealed something very interesting: these people had not slept as they wished, and generally felt hungry during the extra hours in which they were awake. For this reason, they were asked to change their lifestyle, they were required to go to bed earlier than usual and thus sleep two additional hours.
In the following weeks, people reported less hunger, and began to lose weight. According to scientists, the lack of sleep caused their bodies to produce more of a hormone that induces appetite, and sleeping more hours, this hormone was restored to its normal balance. After sleeping more, they felt less hungry, they ate less and therefore lost weight.
Natural therapies for weight loss can be useful by everyone. Of course, not everyone can add two hours of daily sleep to their lives, and we also must bear in mind that human beings are creatures of habits and many of us do not like adapting our habits. However, this study shows how important healthy habits can be for losing weight.
By doing something as simple as this, we increase our daily water intake recommended by doctors and dietitians, and it also ensures that we are digesting the food properly while sleeping. Going to sleep with an empty stomach will produce a feeling of freshness and good mood when we wake up. It could also help to gradually decrease the intake of sweet snacks.
After a while, you’ll realize that you are not only thinner and thinner, but also happier, healthier, and feeling much better psychologically.
