It is nice to have a good-looking treadmill with all the bells and whistles. The Horizon T103 treadmill is just that.  Adding a splash of color that is soothing and pleasing to the eye is the blue backlit LCD display windows. All the glitz and glam is great, but what kind of quality can you expect out of the T103 treadmill?

That Horizon T103, compared to the Horizon T101 and T102 models, is a little sturdier and a little more durable.  It should be at least a little higher quality than the other two treadmills, since it costs more! The Horizon T103 has a more powerful motor, a higher maximum user weight capacity, more built-in workout programs, and a longer warranty on parts.

Here is a list of features that are found on the Horizon T103 treadmill:

  • 2.75 HP Continuous-Duty Motor – Keep the Horizon T103 down to a walking or a jogging pace. Even though the motor is more powerful than the T101 and T102 treadmills, it still isn’t quite powerful enough to handle runners.
  • 14 Built-In Workout Programs – The Horizon T103 offers a wide variety of workouts from which to choose, which will keep you motivated and on track towards reaching your desired fitness goals.
  • 20” x 55” Active Surface – This is the same size active surface as those that come on the Horizon T101 and T102 treadmills, which is not a bad size, but it may not be quite long enough for tall users or users with extra-long strides.
  • 350 Lb. Maximum User Weight Capacity – Manufacturers tend to overstate their user capacity. I would put the weight limit at around 260 lbs. That is still more than that T101 and T102 treadmills.
  • Easy To Fold – If you have limited space in your home or apartment, the easy to fold feature is great. With only a little effort, you can fold this unit to store it after use.
  • Heart Rate Monitor – Keeping track of your heart rate is easy. With the hand grip heart rate monitors it allows you to keep track of your heart rate so that you can increase or decrease the intensity of your workouts as needed.  Even though this type of monitor is not as efficient as the wireless variety; however, it is better than no heart rate monitor at all.
  • Cooling Fan – While working up a good sweat, the fan provides a little relief.
  • Up to 12 MPH Speed Capacity And Up To 12% Incline Capacity Some people like to keep the intensity high while working out. On the Horizon T103, you may Exercise at a faster pace or on a steeper incline or reduce the speed and/or incline to work at a lower intensity level.
  • Warranties – As with any of the Horizon products, the T103 also has lifetime warranties on its frame and motor.  The parts warranty on the T103 is 2 years , which is a year longer than the parts warranties on the other two models.  All of these models have one-year labor warranties.

Overall, the Horizon T103 treadmill is certainly the better model than the T101 or T102, which is reflected in its higher price.  The Horizon T103 is more suitable than the T101 and the T102 for jogging, but really none of these treadmills is really adequate to support running.

If you are an average size walker, you could probably get by with any of these three Horizon models, but just keep in mind that the Horizon T103 might cost a bit more, but it IS a better quality machine.  It’s a little sturdier, a little more durable, and is protected by a better warranty.
